Tungnasugitsi Kangiqsualujjuarmut! – Welcome to Kangiqsualujjuaq!

Parc national Ulittaniujalik and Parc national Kuururjuaq Discovery Centre has an exhibition about the fascinating lands that are Kuururjuaq National Park and Ulittaniujalik National Park.

Museum experiences

  • You can listen to traditional oral accounts, meet a torngak in Tivi Etok's eye, and touch a polar bear skin hunted by director Charlie Munick. On the ceiling, you'll enjoy an interactive showcasing traditional knowledge of the starry sky. Visitng time : 45 minutes.
  • Parc national Kuururjuaq stretches from Ungava Bay to the summit of Mount D'Iberville in the Torngat Mountains. Traversed for millennia by different cultural groups, this exceptional territory offers visitors breathtaking peaks and a magnificent river ideal for white-water activities. The Koroc River rises on the Labrador border and flows for 160 km towards Ungava Bay. At 1,646 metres, Mount Kauviik (Mont D'Iberville) dominates the park's territory. From the summit, the scenery is grandiose, and to the east, the view extends as far as the Labrador Sea.
  • Parc national Ulittaniujalik is steeped in thousands of years of captivating history. Pyramid Peak, the park's landmark, boasts ancient shorelines that bear witness to 7,000 years of history. The George River, once witness to the migratory movements of hundreds of thousands of caribou, was also a historic passageway for the Inuit and Naskapi peoples, as well as for explorers and adventurers. Today, it offers fantastic river-rafting opportunities. When it was created in 2016, Parc national Ulittaniujalik became the 2nd largest park in Quebec.
